A recently surfaced image of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, has ignited discussions on social media platforms.
The image features Imran Khan seated in a car next to a police officer, and it seems to be a selfie taken by the police officer himself.
The police officer in the photograph has been identified as Qasim Khan Niazi, holding the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Islamabad. Sources indicate that DSP Qasim Niazi is responsible for overseeing prisoner transfers and acts as the judicial guard during such movements.
It’s worth noting that judicial guards typically accompany accused individuals during their transfers. While the exact date of this image remains unconfirmed, it is said to have been taken during Imran Khan’s transportation from Attock Jail.
Sources suggest that a lawyer associated with the political party leaked the image of Imran Khan. DSP Qasim Niazi allegedly shared the photograph with a lawyer acquaintance, leading to its public circulation.
As of now, no disciplinary action has been taken against DSP Qasim Niazi. The question of whether taking a photograph with an accused individual warrants any specific action remains unanswered, and DSP Qasim Niazi continues to carry out his duties.
