Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar recently addressed several pressing issues during his visit to Lahore.
Kakar emphasized that registered Afghan refugees are not being repatriated, clarifying that the repatriation efforts primarily target those who lack proper documentation.
He argued that living in any country without legal status is generally not permitted worldwide, and individuals from other countries should enter Pakistan with the appropriate visas.
Regarding the announcement of a polling date, Kakar asserted that this responsibility falls under the jurisdiction of the election commission.
Furthermore, he noted that the election commission has not imposed any ban on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, and the caretaker government has no intentions of acting in an illegal or unconstitutional manner.
Kakar underscored that decisions regarding the PTI’s participation in the elections are not within the caretaker government’s mandate, expressing confidence that PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s loyal candidates will participate in the upcoming elections.
Switching topics, the caretaker prime minister called for a ceasefire between Israel and Palestine, strongly condemning Israeli aggression in Gaza. He advocated for providing aid to the people of Gaza in light of the ongoing situation.
