The ICC has officially declared that the champions of the Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 will be awarded a prize of USD 4 million from the total prize pool of USD 10 million. The runners-up in the final, scheduled to be held on 19th November at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, will receive USD 2 million. This stands as a generous reward for the exceptional performances by the top teams in the tournament.

Furthermore, the Group Stage matches will also offer rewards to participating teams. Each triumph during this stage will grant teams a sum of USD 40,000. This dynamic adds an element of excitement to the competition, as teams will strive to excel in each match, aiming for both victory and the associated financial benefits.

A significant stride towards gender equality in cricket has been taken by the ICC, as they have decided to allocate equal prize money for both men’s and women’s events in the forthcoming ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in 2025. This momentous announcement was made during the ICC Annual Conference held in Durban, South Africa in July 2023.

Overall, the ICC’s resolution marks a substantial and positive development for the future of women’s cricket. It underscores the values of inclusivity and gender equality while offering a prominent platform for female cricketers to showcase their talents on the global stage.
