The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has implemented new timings for all schools and colleges in both urban and rural areas of Islamabad. These adjustments are in response to the recent drop in temperature following rain.

Single-Shift Institutes

For single-shift institutes, the new timings are as follows: from Monday to Thursday, they will operate from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, while on Fridays, they will close at 12:30 pm.

Double Shift Institutes

Double shift institutes will follow these revised timings: the morning shift runs from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm from Monday to Thursday and closes at 12:30 pm on Fridays. The evening shift will operate from 1 pm to 6 pm from Monday to Thursday, with the second shift beginning at 2:30 pm on Fridays.

Postgraduate Colleges

Postgraduate colleges will function from either 8:30 am to 2:00 pm or 4:00 pm.

Similar adjustments to school timings are anticipated in other regions of the country as temperatures are expected to continue dropping. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, several areas, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Islamabad, Potohar region, and northeast Punjab, are likely to experience rain, thunderstorms, and even snow in mountainous areas. Upper parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will have partly cloudy weather, while several areas in the province are expected to receive heavy rain.
