Tate, Tristan, and two Romanian women have snapped a shot pulling up to the courthouse in a police van.

The four were arrested in December as part of a human trafficking and rape investigation, and a court approved a request by authorities to jail them for 30 days.

The hearing on Tuesday was for the Tate to appeal the decision to keep them in prison. At the time of the newspaper, the court had not evident whether to grant the appeal.

Photos from the courthouse showed Tate carrying a book Insider identified as a bilingual version of the Quran, Islam’s holy text.

Analysis of the photographs matched the book cover of the translation by M.A. Abdel Haleem, who provided the English version along with the original Arabic:

Tate publicly converted to Islam in October last year – despite an apparent clash between a traditional Islamic lifestyle and his webcam pornography business.

His friend and associated influencer Tam Khan tweeted a video on October 24 that disclosed him teaching Tate how to pray. Khan also recently released a video in support of Tate denying the allegations against him.

On Tuesday, Khan posted photos of Tate holding a Quran, which Tate’s profile retweeted.

Tate’s conversion sparked concern among some Muslims, who said it harmed the community by associating with Tate’s overt misogyny.

In a video declaring his Muslim identity, Tate said he would “find a nice Islamic housewife and build a big pile of rocks in case she’s fresh,” a seeming reference to the trust between some Muslims that people should be stoned to death for adultery.

Yousra Samir wrote in Al Jazeera in November that she fears Tate is using his popularity among alt-right Muslim men to change.

Tate, his brother, and two women – Georgiana Naghe and Luana Radu – are accused of exploiting women to produce porn for their online business. Tate and the others were held for 24 hours, which the court extended to 30 days. Tate has made no public statement, but his lawyer gave an interview to the Romanian news channel Gândul in which he said there was no evidence against the brothers.
