A video circulating on social media captures a police presence at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), just two days after a challenging Q&A session with caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar.

This video has garnered significant attention, raising concerns about the circumstances surrounding the police visit to the university.

During the Q&A session, students asked Kakar about the purpose of his visit, with some criticizing his late arrival, as he was half an hour late to the scheduled time.

Kakar appeared unfazed by the students’ tough questions, and videos of his visit at LUMS have gone viral on various social media platforms, trending on Twitter as well.

A social media user expressed support for the students, stating that the Punjab government should not take any action against LUMS students, emphasizing their right to freedom of speech and expression. Asking questions, the user noted, is not a crime, and the youth are the hope and backbone of the nation.

In response to the video, the Inspector General of Punjab, Usman Anwar, refuted reports of a police raid on LUMS University, deeming the video as “fake.” He stated that no such instructions were given to any police officials and that the video was an attempt to discredit the prime minister’s visit to the institution.

Anwar clarified that the footage showing police vans in the video indicated normal police movement far away from the university. He emphasized that neither the police raided LUMS University nor had any such plans and pledged to take action against those involved in creating the video.
