Muzaffargarh Traffic Police has achieved a significant milestone by granting a truck driver’s license to a transgender individual for the first time in the Punjab region.

As per a media report, Shahaana Abbas Shani has successfully obtained a Heavy Transport Vehicle (HTV) license from the department. Speaking to the media, Shani shared that her aspiration to earn a dignified livelihood served as the driving force behind this courageous endeavor.

Shani recounted her journey, noting that she faced significant adversity when seeking driving lessons. Many truck drivers dismissed her, unfairly assuming that she was merely seeking an easy income as a beggar. She stated, “They thought I was just another beggar trying to make easy money.”
