This Is How Mahira Khan Honoured Her Grandmothers On Her Wedding Day!

Pakistani actress Mahira Khan recently celebrated her nuptials with businessman Salim Karim. She shared some cherished moments from her Mayun ceremony on social media and extended heartfelt gratitude to the most supportive women in her life.

Videos circulating on social platforms depicted the understated yet beautiful wedding event, which seemingly took place on a Sunday. Mahira Khan, the renowned actress, looked stunning and elegant as the bride.

In her latest Instagram post, She offered glimpses of her Mayun event, organized by her “childhood girlfriends.” She accompanied the images with a touching tribute to her mother and friends.

She expressed, “My mother had one wish… to commence the wedding with a prayer. My beautiful Ama, who is in a wheelchair — one might assume her abilities are limited, but she can truly accomplish anything.”

She detailed her mother’s active role in managing decorations, table arrangements, furniture rearrangements, and punctuality, concluding with an expression of gratitude: “Alhumdulillah for our parents.”

She further shared that her friends organized a Mayun ceremony in her honor before the big day.

Mayun is a traditional gathering where the bride’s family celebrates her through various rituals like adorning her hands with henna, singing songs, and offering sweets.

“Later in the day, my childhood friends arranged a Mayun ceremony for me. Alhumdulillah for friends I consider my sisters,” She noted.

She also mentioned that she took a bud of motia (jasmine) flower from her garland and placed it in her “baali” (earring) as a tribute to her late grandmothers.

She concluded by saying, “P.S. I took a bud of motia and placed it in my baali before going downstairs… for my Nani and Dadi.”
